“Peacock Alley” was a nickname given to Highway 41 at the height of chenille bedspread popularity. According to the city of Dalton, Catherine Evans Whitener created the chenille process that led to the invention of modern tufted carpet and Dalton’s position as Carpet Capital of the World. The most recognizable patterns on the bedspreads were peacocks that decorated the exterior of the Highway 41 chenille shops.

As part of a public art project, local artist Ruth Park painted the King Peacock mural on King Street in downtown Dalton, and the mural has since become a photo destination.

As a way to support, and with the help of, the Creative Arts Guild, Georgia's oldest multidisciplinary community arts center, we’ve digitized the King Peacock mural and turned it into a stunning dual-foil stamp. Our first run of the Dalton Peacock stamp is going on A3 approach discs in 500 Spectrum Glimmer plastic for the extra level of detail, not unlike the peacock spreads of the past.

Model

The Prodigy Disc A3 is an overstable utility disc that fills the gap between midranges and putters. The A3 is perfect for strong to above average throwers who want to avoid the possibility of their shot turning over. The disc is consistent and reliable in all wind conditions and perfect for short, trick shots as well as high wind.

Plastic

500 Plastic has been in development for quite some time, formulated and based on carefully considered player feedback. It has a stiffer, less gummy feel than 400 Plastic. This provides an extremely confident grip on the flight plate, balancing just the right amount of flex and firmness, with a very solid feeling rim that we believe disc golfers are going to love. 500 Plastic has a uniquely pearlescent finish, unlike anything else in the Prodigy Disc plastic line.
